Geonaut is an exciting new project starting at Barkly Arts Centre in July 2013.

Geonaut is a unique participatory arts project that will engage a large cross section of marginalised groups and communities from the Western corridor of Melbourne. Led by key artists Adam Douglass, Francine Riches and Anna Topalidou the project is designed to utilise collective creative potential and to generate new considerations of “community”. At the heart of Geonaut is the experience of painting. Geonaut will support a wide range of community members to explore the fundamentals of contemporary painting techniques and principles in an accessible and meaningful way. This process will produce a compelling public art installation for a broad audience in the main pedestrian mall in Footscray as part of the Big West festival 2013)
